POLISH–UKRAINIAN SUMMER CAMPS

About the project

We organize summer camps that help young people break down language and cultural barriers. They take place outdoors – in simple conditions, close to nature.

Children and young people learn how to cope with challenges, building trust and mutual respect. Beyond friendly relationships, we also prioritize the sense of identity of Ukrainian participants. Strengthening it makes children feel more confident and connect more easily. Our staff consists of Poles and Ukrainians. At the camps, we use three languages simultaneously. There is a shared evening reading in Polish and Ukrainian, and singing – we have our own Polish-Ukrainian-English songbooks. For Polish children, the camp is an experience of being in a minority, which sensitizes them to the situation of refugee children.
